Economy in Ancient MesopotamiaIn the Paleolithic Era, there wasn't enough time to have an economy. You needed to be constantly moving around, finding food to survive. In the Neolithic Era, people had settled down. They didn't have to worry as much about where their next meal was going to come from, so people started trading and establishing jobs. The people in the Neolithic Era traded with people in other communities to get goods their village lacked. Flint and obsidian were highly valued trade items. They also formed jobs, there were tool makers, crop growers, house builders, weavers, basket makers, and traders. Without these jobs, it would have been very hard, even impossible to maintain their communities.
Fun Fact:Obsidian is formed from the magma of a nearby volcano!
