Culture in Ancient MesopotamiaThere is culture EVERYWHERE you look. Left, right, forwards backwards, diagonally at a 45 degree angle, it's there. It was also there in the past. The Paleolithic Era left behind a bunch of cave paintings that studies have grouped into three categories: animals, human figures, and abstract signs. Interpretations of these paintings can vary from prehistoric star charts, accounts of past hunts or rituals for future ones, and even shamanism (a range of traditional beliefs and practices concerned with communication with the spirit world). In the Neolithic Era, culture was shown a bit more. As talked about in religions, they had gods they believed in. They worshipped the gods, built ziggurats for them, built statues for them, the gods guided their way of living. There were 4 main gods: Earth, Air, Water, and The Heaven, but there were up to 3000 lesser gods! In the Neolithic Era people wore clothes made of woven natural fibers, wool linen, and comfortable cloth.
Fun Fact:In the Neolithic Era people used hematite red on their lips and cheeks as makeup!
